The Benefits of NAD+ Therapy: Unlocking Cellular Energy and Longevity
NAD+ therapy is gaining popularity as a powerful treatment for boosting energy, improving brain function, and promoting overall well-being. But what exactly is NAD+, and why is it so essential for health? In this post, we explore the science behind NAD+ therapy, its benefits, and whether it’s right for you.
What is NAD+?
Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD+) is a vital coenzyme found in every cell of the body. It plays a crucial role in energy production, DNA repair, cellular metabolism and overall health and longevity. NAD+ is naturally occuring in our body, but as we age, NAD+ levels decline, which can contribute to fatigue, cognitive decline, and other signs of aging. Factors like stress, poor diet, and environmental toxins can further deplete NAD+ levels, making supplementation an appealing option.
NAD+ Therapy Options
NAD+ supplementation can help improve naturally declining levels as we age. There are a variety of options for NAD+ supplementation including IV (intravenous) administration, injections, or oral supplementation.
With an IV route, NAD+ is delivered directly into the bloodstream which ensures higher absorption and faster cellular uptake of the NAD+ and immediate effects. NAD+ IVs run slowly over 3-4 hours as tolerated. We usually recommend a loading dose of once weekly followed by every other week or monthly depending on your response.
Injectable options are also available. Benefits of injectable are they are much more quickly administered than an IV route and also are easily absorbed and bypass the digestive system making the NAD+ more readily available for the body to use. We also recommend a loading dose for injectables to ensure the best response.
Oral supplements are also an option for supplementing NAD+. The NAD+ molecule itself is not easily absorbed orally so it is better to take a supplement that provides NAD+ precursors so your body can take those precursors and make NAD+. We offer an oral supplement that has been highly researched and proven to raise NAD+ levels in the body and help with symptoms of NAD+ decline that is safe, with very few side effects. These supplements have to be taken daily and can take a little more time to work in the body than the IV or injection options.
Benefits of NAD+ Therapy
1. Boosts Energy Levels
NAD+ plays a key role in converting food into cellular energy (ATP). Many patients report feeling a significant increase in energy, stamina, and endurance after NAD+ therapy.
2. Enhances Brain Function
NAD+ supports cognitive function by repairing neurons and reducing inflammation in the brain. It may help with mental clarity, memory, focus, and even symptoms of neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
3. Supports Anti-Aging and Cellular Repair
By promoting DNA repair and reducing oxidative stress, NAD+ therapy can slow down the aging process at a cellular level, leading to healthier skin, improved muscle function, and overall longevity.
4. Aids in Detox and Addiction Recovery
NAD+ therapy has been used as a natural detoxifier, helping individuals recover from substance abuse by replenishing depleted NAD+ stores. It may also reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings.
5. Improves Metabolism and Weight Management
Since NAD+ is essential for metabolic function, optimizing its levels can support weight management, improve insulin sensitivity, and enhance fat metabolism.
Who Can Benefit from NAD+ Therapy?
NAD+ therapy may be beneficial for:
-Individuals experiencing chronic fatigue or low energy
-Those looking to support brain health and mental clarity
-People seeking anti-aging and longevity benefits
-Athletes or individuals recovering from strenuous activity
-Those going through detox or addiction recovery
-People with chronic or autoimmune disease
